Kwop vs DATALYR: which one tells you who almost bought?

By Kwop · Updated

Kwop (kwop.io) is the one to pick if you want to watch every visit, see which visitors almost bought, and get a follow-up email written for each of them: it ties Stripe, Whop and Shopify payments to the replay of the visit behind them. Kwop (kwop.io) is not an ad attribution platform, so if your main question is which Meta, Google or TikTok ad made money, and you spend $10k or more a month on ads, DATALYR does that job better (checked on datalyr.com, 18 October 2026). Below: what each tool is built for, a side-by-side table, where DATALYR is stronger, and how to test Kwop on your own site for free.

What is the difference between Kwop and DATALYR?

DATALYR measures which channel, campaign and ad drove each sale; Kwop shows what each visitor did on your site and tells you who to follow up. Both match payments to visits, but they answer different questions with that match.

DATALYR calls itself "attribution and analytics software for performance marketing teams". Its plans are sized by monthly ad spend, from $10k to more than $500k. It tracks visits server-side, links devices into one customer, syncs ad spend, reports real revenue against what ad platforms claim, and sends conversions back to Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, OpenAI Ads and Whop Ads. Session replay and heatmaps exist as an add-on on top of that.

Kwop starts from the visit. It records each visit as a replay, scores every visitor by buying intent (how far they went in your funnel, how often they came back, whether they left their email), and lists the people who were ready to buy and did not pay. For each of them it writes a follow-up email from what they did: the plan they picked, the step where they stopped, a promo code that failed. You open it in Gmail in one click and press Send yourself.

Where DATALYR is better

DATALYR is the stronger tool for paid traffic. If you run ads at scale, most of what it does is outside what Kwop does at all.

Where Kwop is different

Kwop is built around the people who almost paid, not around ad spend. If you sell a course, a membership, a SaaS plan or a Whop product and most of your traffic is organic, that is usually the question that makes money.

Kwop's limits. No heatmaps, surveys, A/B tests, JavaScript error capture or mobile app SDK. It does not record hosted checkout pages such as Stripe Checkout, Whop or Shopify checkout; the payment is matched afterwards by email, so a buyer who used a different email at checkout is not matched. The same is true for DATALYR, whose Whop docs say a different email can prevent a match.

Which one should you choose?

Choose by your biggest leak: wasted ad spend points to DATALYR, buyers who leave at checkout point to Kwop.

How do you test Kwop on your site?

Paste your link on the Kwop homepage and create a free account, no card. The free website test then sends a real browser through your site 3 times (a computer as if from a search engine, a phone as if from Instagram or TikTok, someone looking for your prices) and shows each visit as a replay a few minutes later. After you install the script, your first 3 real sessions are visible for free.

FAQ

Does DATALYR have session replay?

Yes. DATALYR has session replay and heatmaps for websites, and each replay shows the campaign that paid for the visit. Its session replay page says replay is an add-on, priced by volume, and does not cover mobile apps yet (checked 18 October 2026). In Kwop, replays are included on both plans.

How much does DATALYR cost?

DATALYR's pricing page lists Growth at $299 a month for $10k to $50k of monthly ad spend, Scale at $599, Performance at $1,199, and a custom Enterprise plan. Session replay is an add-on. Its FAQ mentions a free trial without giving its length (checked 18 October 2026).

Does DATALYR write follow-up emails?

We found no follow-up email writer on DATALYR's site or in its docs. It sends lifecycle events to Klaviyo, where you can build email flows yourself. Kwop writes a follow-up email for each hot lead from what that person did on your site, up to 7 per lead, and opens it in Gmail ready to send.

Is Kwop an ad attribution tool like DATALYR?

No. Kwop shows the traffic source of each visit and the revenue per source, but it does not sync ad spend, compute ROAS per ad or send conversions back to Meta, Google or TikTok. If those are your main jobs, DATALYR is the better fit.

Do Kwop and DATALYR both work with Whop and Stripe?

Yes. Both read Stripe, Whop and Shopify payments and match them to website visits by the buyer's email. DATALYR also reads RevenueCat, Superwall and Checkout Champ; Kwop reads Stripe, Whop and Shopify only, on its Pro plan.

Can I use Kwop with Claude or ChatGPT like DATALYR's MCP server?

Yes. Kwop's Pro plan includes an MCP server with 9 tools, including who_to_follow_up and write_follow_up, for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Gemini CLI. DATALYR's MCP server is larger and covers ads, attribution, cohorts and reports, and its agents can manage links and conversion rules.
