Kwop vs Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity is a free, well-made tool to see how people use your website, with session recordings and heatmaps. Kwop is a paid tool that records every visit too, then ties each one to the money it brought from Stripe, Whop or Shopify and tells you who to follow up. Here is an honest look at what each one is for.
The short answer
- Choose Microsoft Clarity if you want free recordings and heatmaps to improve the design of your pages, and you don't need to know which visit turned into a sale.
- Choose Kwop if you sell online with Stripe, Whop or Shopify and want to see which visits made money, who was about to buy, and what to write to them.
The two tools answer different questions. Clarity asks "how do people use this page?". Kwop asks "which of these visits paid, and who should I contact next?".

Where Microsoft Clarity is better
Clarity is a strong product, and on some points it is simply the better pick:
- It's free. No plan to choose, no card. If your budget is zero, that matters more than anything on this page.
- Heatmaps. Clarity shows where people click and how far they scroll on a page, across all your visitors at once. Kwop does not have heatmaps. If your main job is page layout and design, that view is very useful.
- Built for understanding behavior. Recordings, heatmaps and click insights in one free tool are a solid base for UX work on any site, including sites that don't sell anything online.
Where Kwop is different
Kwop also records every visit like a video: the mouse, the clicks, the scroll. On top of the session replay, it is built around revenue.
- Every payment next to its visit. On Pro, you connect your own Stripe (a restricted key with read access), Whop or Shopify (an Admin API access token from a custom app in your store). Access is read-only: Kwop reads payments, products, prices and promo codes, and never moves money. It imports the last 90 days, matches each payment to the visitor who typed the same email on your site, and shows the replay next to the sale, with the plan they picked.
- A buying-intent score. Each visitor who has not paid gets a score from 0 to 100, based on how far they went in your funnel, how often they came back, how many pages they saw and whether they left their email.
- Follow-ups written from the visit. Kwop lists the people who were ready to buy, left their email and didn't pay, with the reason they stopped. The message uses their real visit: the plan they picked, where they stopped, a promo code that failed. Offers come only from your real data, like an active promo code or a price drop.
- Ask your data, or let your AI ask it. On Pro, you can ask Kwop questions in plain English, like "where am I losing buyers?". The MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor 9 tools, including
who_to_follow_up,get_revenueandwrite_follow_up. - Test visits. Kwop can send a real browser through your site, on desktop and on a phone. It reports dead clicks, hidden buttons, broken links and slow pages, with the replay.
Privacy
Both tools record behavior, and Clarity has its own masking settings. Here is how Kwop handles it:
- Every form field is masked in the visitor's browser, so passwords and card numbers never leave the page.
- Only an email typed in your own forms is read, to tie a payment to a visit. Turn it off with
data-capture-email="off"on the script line. - Add
flow-maskto hide an element's text, orflow-blockto keep it out of replays. - With
data-consent="required", nothing is recorded until your cookie banner callsFlow.consent(). - One click in the dashboard deletes a visitor's visits, replays and email.
Who should choose which
Microsoft Clarity fits blogs, content sites, agencies doing UX reviews, and anyone who needs heatmaps or can't pay for a tool yet.
Kwop fits people who sell online: coaches and course creators, memberships and communities on Whop, SaaS on Stripe, Shopify stores. If visitors leave their email and some of them don't pay, Kwop shows you who they are and what to send them.
You can also use both. Each tool installs with its own short script, so you can keep Clarity for heatmaps and use Kwop for revenue and follow-ups.

Yes, Clarity is free to use. Kwop is a paid tool. You can try Kwop for free with 3 test visits of your site and no card, but recording your real visitors needs a plan.
Does Kwop have heatmaps?
No. Kwop has session replays, journeys, funnels, rage clicks and dead clicks from its test visits, but no heatmaps. If you need heatmaps, Clarity has them.
